A sample outline of the Weekend Retreat Away is as follows;

Friday

2.00pmArrival – any time from 2pm.

Free time to get settled into your accommodation, orientation, time to explore, quick dip in the sea, etc!

4.00pmOptional:

6km jog along beach and through the bush for any early arrivals.

5.00pmTeam Challenge / Partner Workout:

A good opportunity to get active after a long car ride and get to know one another at the same time!

6.30pmDinner

7.30pmExtended Yoga Nidra session:

Yoga Nidra’ literally means a state of conscious sleep. You will be guided through a series of preparatory exercises designed to release tension stored within the body and to prepare it for total stillness. Pranayama (breathing exercises) enable you to establish the mind/breath connection as well as release stress and unhealthy cortisol levels within the body. This will be followed by the Yoga Nidra technique itself. A guided relaxation and meditation technique that induces a state of incredible calmness, quietness and clarity.

Saturday

7.15amYoga on the Beach:

‘Salute to the Sun’ on the beach to kick start our day!

(‘Salute to the Sun’ or ‘Surya Namaskara’ is a set sequence of gentle flowing movements that are synchronized with the breath.)

8.30amBreakfast

10.30amBOX FIT and OUTDOOR FIT combined session:

A timed challenge to start, followed by a 45 minute boxing session and additional ‘finisher’ at the end.

As always; training sessions are structured, varied and cater to different fitness levels, providing a whole body workout as well as incorporating various aspects of fitness such as; Cardiovascular Fitness, Muscular Endurance and Strength, Stamina, Co-ordination and Power.

12.30pmLunch

2.30pmDeep Stretch Yoga

A nurturing yoga designed to loosen and lengthen muscle providing you with a deep whole body stretch.

4.00pm – Art Workshop

6.30pm – Dinner

7.00 pm Dinner followed by free time to enjoy the Retreat Centre at your leisure.

FREE TIME OPTIONS:

Chill out under a tree and read a book, relax on the beach, swim, walk through the bush or snooze in the sun!

Book in for a deep tissue massage with Christie, designed to prevent and relieve injuries and conditions that are associated with exercise. She will focus on problem areas to relieve trigger points and reduce the stress and tension within the muscles. Bookings can be made by signing up for a slot on the Bookings Sheet. Please note: This is at an additional cost (bargain at $1per minute!).

Sunday

7.15am Yoga on the Beach:

Start the day with a series of ‘Sun Salutations’  and flowing postures, followed by a jog to the end of the beach and back.

8.30am – Breakfast

10.30am – OUTDOOR FIT:

A ‘travelling workout’ through the bush designed to challenge you in all areas of your fitness.

11.30am

12.30pm – Lunch

2.00pmBreathwork and Yoga Nidra

Learn how to go from anxious to calm in 7 breaths.  The breath is such an essential part of living and you will be taken through some gentle standing movements linked to the breath as well as some breathwork lying down. This will be followed by a final Yoga Nidra to send you home on a cloud of bliss and serenity!

3.00pm

3.30pm Farewell and journey back to Auckland when ready.
